Interactive Java Charts Help
Our Java-based Interactive charts allow you to view comparative data with ease, as you track intraday and historical charts for all of your positions.
This tool offers you the ability to zoom in on specific time frames, add your own trend lines, and apply a wide array of technical Alogrithms to the chart.
To Begin, click on the 'Charts' tab in the quote module, and then click on the 'Java Chart' button. When the java application loads, enter the symbol you wish to research into the quotebox in the upper left of the interactive chart. Then, in the two drop-down menus directly to the right of the quotebox, select the market you wish to search, and the type of graphical return in which you would like to view the data. Graphical return options include: Line Chart, Bar Chart, Candlestick, Moving Averages, MACD, MACD Histogram, Money Flow (PSR), and Stochastic.
Click on the "Go" button to view the chart for your symbol. Charts are also customizable in terms of the time period they cover, offering displays for Intraday, 1 week, 1 month, 3 month, 6 month, 1 year, 2.5 year, and 5 year time frames. This feature may be utilized by clicking on the button for the time range you wish to consider, in the lower navigation bar.
To view the symbol's Last Price (Lst), Volume (Vol), Change (Chg), and Yield (Y) data for any given moment in time, simply pass your mouse cursor anywhere over the chart. The data will be dynamically displayed in the upper right corner of the chart.
To Zoom In on a specific time period within the chart, simply right mouse click and drag to select and highlight that time period.
To plot your own Trend Lines in the chart, left mouse click, release and move your mouse. You will see your trend line being drawn. When your mouse cursor reaches the line's desired end point, left click once again, and the line will have been drawn.
To Erase a freshly drawn Trend Line, mouse your cursor arrow directly over the line, and left double click.
To bring up a Cross-Hair View for targeting a particular moment in time, left double click anywhere in the chart. Your cursor will now constitute the center of a cross-hair focus, to assist you in determining the symbol's Last Price, Volume, Change, and Yield at that specific time.
Exit the interactive chart by either clicking on any of the Static Chart buttons (Line; Bar; Candlestick), or by selecting another tab from the row of options along the top of the quote module.
